The bolsters, plates and rivets are made of brass, as is the honeycomb inlay with the image of a bee. The brass harmonises very well with the different woods. We have also used the unusual wood species sea buckthorn for this special knife. It is a native wood with a beautiful grain that provides the handle scales for our knives. An Ode to the Heritage of the Bergisches Land and Beyond The OTTER "Bergmann" combines in its design the artisanal traditions and innovations of the regions around Solingen and is the perfect everyday companion The Bergmann is inspired by one of the very first knives from the house of OTTER, the Webermesser. The carbon blade with its very fine tip points to the original application area in the textile and ribbon weaving industries of the Bergisches Land.
