Functionality and simple beauty — those are the attributes distinguishing this classic OTTER model. The anchor knife is a true eye-catcher. The brass anchor embedded into the Elforyn* handle and the blued carbon steel blade gives this pocket knife a special touch. The blade is a hoof blade, which is particularly well suited for drawing cuts. The included leather band completes not only the knife, but it also helps prevent losing it.
The bluing on the surface of the blade fades with use!* Elforyn is the environmentally friendly alternative to real ivory. It consists of synthetic resins, some of which are of plant origin, and other natural fibres and materials. Elforyn is resistant to moisture, cracking and discolouration. The material has a high surface hardness and is also extremely abrasion-resistant.

Belgian whetstones are used for sharpening the knives. These whetstones consist of a natural stone quarried from the Belgian Ardennes mountains. Their unique consistency makes it possible for us to grind the blades with precision and in a material-friendly way. The lighter layer is used for grinding, the slate layer on the bottom is simply to make the sharpening stone stronger. The Belgian whetstones must be wet before honing. Set the blade onto the stone at a sharp angle and pull it back in circular motions. A natural abrasive paste develops in this process, which sharpens the blade and polishes it finely at the same time. The Belgian whetstone no. 4 is the smaller one of our whetstones.

Finding the perfect holster for the world-famous Mercator knife is definitely no easy task!
For this reason, Sebastian from hartaufhart decided to develop one himself and put various prototypes through their paces over a period of 2 years.
The result is this handmade holster made from vegetable-tanned cowhide of European origin. Each holster looks slightly different and may even show scars or small signs of injury from the animal. The leather is sealed on the inside so that moisture does not affect the leather. The outside is also impregnated and polished to be water-repellent.
The integrated side stabilisers and the rivets are made of brass. The metal surfaces are polished but untreated so that an individual patina develops over time.
The holster can be worn on the left or right, with the opening facing forwards or backwards. The position on the belt is irrelevant. The loop on the back has been designed in such a way that a firm fit is always guaranteed and yet there is enough flexibility to adapt to all body movements. The holster is available in natural, saddle brown and black.
Suitable for all belts up to 42 mm and a maximum leather thickness of 5 mm. Belts narrower than 30 mm and less than 3 mm thick should not be used, as wearing comfort is no longer guaranteed. * The product photos are sample images, the colour and texture of the leather may vary.

Our claw knife is specially designed for re-cutting sheep hooves. The knife has a strong handle and a slightly curved short blade, which makes it possible to trim the supporting and the horn wall perfectly. When cutting in dirty places, the blade wear is particularly high. OTTER knives can be re-sharpened very easily due to their blade steel. The knife is riveted under a pneumatic hammer, creating extremely strong riveted joints. The blade, which is subject to strong axial forces during hoof processing, is thus more firmly seated between the strong steel plates.
Clipping knife with a short and stable carbon blade. The long handle gives a good feel while clipping.Blade length approximately 3,5 cm, total length 18 cm.
Handy gardening shears. The shears are particularly suitable for all annual work. The handle length is suitable for all hand sizes. The blades are screwed together so that the cutting blades can be readjusted if necessary. The shears are drop forged and carefully ground. The handle has a plastic cover. A wire at the end of the handle prevents it from opening during transport.

The blades are screwed together so that the cutting blades can be readjusted when wiggling. The shears are drop forged and carefully ground. The handle has a plastic cover. A wire at the end of the handle prevents it from opening during transport.
Handy and well thought-out garden and florist shears. The locking clip at the end of the handle can be folded inwards when working. This prevents the lock from locking accidentally. For fine adjustment of the blade clearance, an adjustable plate is located on the handle jaws. These shears are particularly popular with women due to the small handle length. The shears are drop forged and carefully ground. The handle has a plastic cover.

The Hippekniep (goat knife) is a simple and robust pocket knife. Rough handling and tough jobs like leverage work caused the blades of the classic predecessor models to loosen. A sturdier solution had to be developped: the rivet holding the blade firmly in position now comes equipped with a large semi-circular rivet in a broad casing. When needed, the rivet can simply be hammered in deeper if the blade begins to loosen after extensive use. This pocket knife is our large Hippekniep with handle shells made of smoked oak. There is a hole in the handle for fastening a band.
