We have a legitimate interest in displaying our website as reliably as possible. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time.

2.1 Data Processing Agreement

We have entered into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) for the use of the aforementioned service. This is a legally required contract that ensures that the personal data of our website visitors is processed only according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

3. General Information and Mandatory Information

3.2 Information about the responsible entity

The responsible entity for data processing on this website is:
OTTER-Messer GmbH

3.3 Storage Period

Unless a specific storage period is mentioned within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing is no longer applicable. If you make a legitimate request for deletion or revoke your consent for data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion will occur once the reasons for storage no longer apply.

3.4 General Information on the Legal Bases for Data Processing on this Website

We use tools from companies based in the USA or other data protection-unsafe third countries. When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third countries and processed there. Please note that in these countries, a data protection level comparable to that of the EU cannot be guaranteed. For example, US companies are required to disclose personal data to security authorities without the possibility for the data subject to legally challenge it. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence agencies) may process, analyze, and store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.

You have the right, in accordance with applicable legal provisions, to receive free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing, as well as the right to correct or delete this data if necessary. This website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files stored on your computer to analyze how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

The storage of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize their website and advertising. We will not use tracking tools to collect personal data about you without your explicit consent, transmit such data to third-party advertisers or marketing platforms, or link the data with your personal information (such as name or address) without your permission.

5.1.1 IP Anonymization

We have enabled IP anonymization on this website. This means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website usage and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

5.1.2 Browser Plugin

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to fully utilize all the functions of this website. Additionally, you can prevent Google from collecting and processing data generated by the cookie related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

5.1.4 Data Processing Agreement

We have concluded a contract with Google for data processing and fully implement the strict guidelines of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

5.1.5 Demographic Features in Google Analytics

This website uses the "demographic features" of Google Analytics. This enables the creation of reports containing information about the age, gender, and interests of website visitors. This data is derived from Google's interest-based advertising and visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be attributed to any specific individual. You can disable this feature at any time by changing your Google account ad settings or by generally preventing Google Analytics from collecting your data as outlined in the "Objection to Data Collection" section.

5.2 Use of Google Ads Conversion Tracking

We use the online advertising program "Google Ads" on our website, which includes conversion tracking (visit action evaluation). Google Conversion Tracking is an analysis service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). If you have your habitual residence in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) is the responsible entity for your data. Google Ireland Limited is thus the Google affiliate responsible for processing your data and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws.

When you click on an ad served by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is placed on your device. These cookies have a limited lifespan, do not contain personal information, and therefore do not serve for personal identification. If you visit certain pages on our website while the cookie has not expired, both Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the ad and were redirected to that page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie, so there is no way for cookies to be traced across Ads customers' websites.

The information gathered through the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics. This allows us to ascertain the total number of users who clicked on our ads and were redirected to a page marked with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that allows personal identification of users.

Your data may be transferred to the United States. There is currently no adequacy decision by the European Commission for the USA. The data transfer is based, among other things, on the Standard Contractual Clauses as suitable guarantees for the protection of personal data, available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/

The processing of your personal data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR from our predominant legitimate interest in targeting website visitors with interest-based advertising. You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data concerning you.

If you disagree with this answer, you have the right to exercise your control over your data and request the specific actions you want to take.

You can disable personalized advertising for Google ads through your Google ad settings. Instructions for doing so can be found at: https://support.google.com/ads/answer/2662922?hl=de Alternatively, you can prevent the use of cookies by third parties by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative's opt-out page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and following the guidance provided for opting out. This will prevent you from being included in conversion tracking statistics. For further information and Google's privacy policy, please refer to: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/
