Maritimes Schmuckstück immer noch aktuell
Mein Ankermesser mit dem Grenadil-Holz Griff begleitet mich fast jeden Tag. Ich habe mir bei diesem Exemplar bewusst die unkomplizierte Klinge in rostfreiem Stahl ausgesucht, weil man damit nach Herzenslust Früchte und Obst schälen kann ohne das die Klinge anläuft (Patina bekommt). Das ist natürlich nicht ganz stilecht, aber mal was anderes als meine anderen Ankermesser von Otter und Löwenmesser mit den Carbonstahl-Klingen. Ansonsten wieder wie immer top handwerkliche Qualität von OTTER!

Belgian whetstones BB 4
Belgian whetstones are used for sharpening the knives. These whetstones consist of a natural stone quarried from the Belgian Ardennes mountains. Their unique consistency makes it possible for us to grind the blades with precision and in a material-friendly way. The lighter layer is used for grinding, the slate layer on the bottom is simply to make the sharpening stone stronger. The Belgian whetstones must be wet before honing. Set the blade onto the stone at a sharp angle and pull it back in circular motions. A natural abrasive paste develops in this process, which sharpens the blade and polishes it finely at the same time. The Belgian whetstone no. 4 is the smaller one of our whetstones.
