It is a hunting knife with a fixed blade specially adapted for hunting with birds of prey. Since the raptor returns to the falconer with its usually still living prey, it is the falconer's responsibility to kill the prey. A special grind of the blade prevents the "fingers" (claws) of the bird of prey from being injured: only the front part of the blade has a sharp edge of approximately 2-3 cm in length, while the rest of the edge towards the knife handle is blunted.
The transition between the sharp blade tip that penetrates the prey and the dull blade area is clearly visible through a curved notch and can also be easily felt with a finger.
Special feature: HUBERTUS Falconer Knives are typically decorated with a laser engraving of a bird of prey on the blade.
