Hunting and Outdoor Knife—Collector‘s Item and Lifesaver
More than an all-purpose knife for on the go
Stable, robust and up to any situation—this is what a real hunting and outdoor knife must be like! Our Rotwild brand combines precisely these characteristics. Whether hunting or doing other work in nature, camping, trekking or even on a survival trip in the jungle: with a deer hunting and outdoor knife you are equipped for all situations. We are therefore pleased to be able to add another quality knife from Solingen to the range of our OTTER knife manufacture with this traditional brand. Like all of our knives, our Rotwild knives are manufactured with precision by hand and according to the old traditional design.
Wide range of applications
Hunting and outdoor knives can be used as cutting and shaping tools in a variety of ways and are not limited to the use of hunters or survival training in a survival camp. They are suitable for all work in nature where a strong, sharp knife is vital:
- With an outdoor knife wood e.g. can be split—so it is also helpful for every campfire and camping.
- It is used by hunters to break up and snap off killed game.
- The animals can also be skinned or cut up if there is no special knife at hand.
And sometimes there is no specific purpose required to love outdoor knives:
- Depending on the model, the knives are very popular for collectors and end up well protected in a display case instead of being used outdoors.
High quality materials for the best quality from Solingen
We do not only focus on quality in the handmade production of our Rotwild knives, but already on the selection of the materials used. Because only high-quality blade steel guarantees the stability and edge retention of a hunting and outdoor knife. At Rotwild you have the choice between blades made of
- Carbon steel
- Böhler steel and
- S tainless steel
The blade: length and shape
Rotwild knife models differ in their different blade shapes and lengths. The longest blade measures 12 cm.—So you are fine when you carry the outdoor knife with you. Knives with fixed blades over a length of 12 cm are not allowed to be carried along in accordance with § 42a of the German Weapons Act (WaffG). For normal outdoor and survival use, blades up to a maximum of 12 cm in length are usually completely sufficient.
Advantages of outdoor knives with a fixed blade
Hunting and outdoor knives with a fixed blade are somewhat more robust and stable compared to those with a folding blade. They are also easier to clean.
